TREKKING IN NEPAL/
Everest Region
:
EVEREST REGION:
Solukhumbu and Mt. Everest — the Khumbu, commonly known as the
Everest region, is also known as the home of the Sherpas and
the mysterious Yeti. It is one of the most popular trekking
destinations in the world. Trek in the Khumbu region usually
starts with a flight to Lukla at 2800m. The trek ventures into
Himalayan villages and glacial valleys, guarded by some of the
highest and most beautiful mountains in the world. Take a trip
to the serene villages of Thame, Khunde, Khumjung, Thyangboche
and Dingboche; visit ancient monasteries and mingle with
Sherpa culture and community. Namche, the gateway to Khumbu
was, and still is, an important trading post for goods being
ferried across the border to Tibet by yak caravans along the
ancient trade routes. The trek has many ascents and descents
and is rated as strenuous. However, there are a variety of
treks to choose from.

ISLAND PEAK EXPEDITION: 20 DAYS
Strenuous - Max. Elevation 5550 m. - Season: Spring, Autumn.
This
expedition, the most popular climbing/trekking peaks in Nepal,
is suitable for those who do not have previous climbing
experience in the Himalayas. From Dingboche, this peak, which
is an extension of the South Ridge of Lhotse Shar, appears as
a pyramid of ice and rock.
Imja Tse, which
provides an enjoyable climb, also provides some of the most
spectacular sceneries in the Khumbu region. From what appears
from the summit, the giant peaks Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse
(8,501m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m)
stand in a semi circle in the north. Makalu (8475m) in the
east, Baruntse and Ama Dablam in the south, adds to the
enchantment of climbing Island Peak.
